City Council Approves Site Designation for New Library in West Humboldt Park

The Chicago City Council today approved a site designation ordinance that will allow the Public Building Commission of Chicago to acquire property at 727-743 North Kedzie Avenue for a new branch library to serve the West Humboldt Park community.

The property will be used, in conjunction with a vacant city-owned parcel at 711 North Kedzie Avenue, for the construction of the new West Humboldt Park Branch Library.

The new 14,000 square feet, one-story facility will enhance library services for residents of West Humboldt Park and surrounding communities.
