| Description: The New 7th District Police Station will be located on the northwest corner of S. Loomis and W. 63rd Street. PD #7 will
accommodate approximately 247 parking spaces located on the 4 acre site. PD #7 is a 2 story, 44,000 square foot masonry
structure.
The Program for PD #7 includes a Spacious Public Lobby, a Community Room, Community Relations Offices, Administrative Offices, Male and Female Locker Rooms for 400 Officers, Workout Room, and Garage Space, a Lock-Up Containing 12 Cells and 4 Group Holding Cells, Pre-Processing and Processing Areas, and a Sallyport. The facility also includes state-of-the-art command and communication infrastructure, and video arraignment linking the lock-up to the courtroom.
The new station will be twice the size of the current Englewood District Police Station that was built in 1954 at 6120 S. Racine Ave.
LEED Features: This project is designed to achieve the goal of
LEED “Gold” Certification and includes a "Green" roof over 50% of the roof area, a turbine generator waste heat recovery system, and a sophisticated building energy management system. |

Description: A 2 story, 44,000 SF masonry. This project includes a 226 car parking garage structure and 24 surface parking spaces and is contained on a 2.67 acre site.
The new facility includes features such as a spacious public lobby, a Community Room, a Community Relations Office, a secured viewing and line up room, a separate two station entrance (Sallyport) for arrested personnel, a video arraignment room, a telecommunication room, a fitness room, a video wall roll call room, a security monitoring system, and a quiet room for officers.
The new station will be nearly five times the size of the current Deering District Police Station which was built in 1938 at 3501 S. Lowe Avenue.
LEED Features: This project is designed to achieve the goal of LEED “Gold” Certification and includes a "Green" roof over 50% of the roof area, a turbine generator waste heat recovery system, environmentally friendly and recycled material usage, and a sophisticated building energy management system.

| Description: The new 23rd District Police Station will replace the existing police station located at 3600 N. Halsted. The current station was built in the 1930’s and does not have adequate space or amenities to service the Town Hall District. The new station, to be constructed at the corner of W. Addison and N. Fremont, will consist of a two story
44,000 square foot masonry building with a design based on
the prototype for other new police stations that have been built throughout the City. The project is designed to accommodate a staff of 450 people over three shifts and will contain male/female locker rooms, roll call room, exercise room, sallyport, holding cells, interview rooms, evidence areas, 100 seat community room, administrative and general offices and a 150 foot communications tower.
LEED Features: This project will be designed to achieve the goal of LEED “Gold” Certification and includes a turbine generator waste heat recovery system, heat island effect reduction pavement, drought resistant landscaping, and a sophisticated building energy management system. |

There will be parking to accommodate 222 vehicles for the new school and adjacent Hanson Stadium. This school will open in the fall of 2009.

The building includes accommodations for up to 20 firefighters, which includes 4 officer quarters. Apparatus bay to store all vehicles – 3 inbound doors and 3 outbound doors with Fifty two foot circular driveway designed for ease of maneuvering of all fire vehicles. On site landscaping and fenced parking for 31 vehicles are part of the site development.
LEED Features: Project will be LEED "Silver" certified with Green roof over 50 percent of roof area to reduce storm water run off, use of Drought tolerant landscaping, on-site storm water retention system, roof mounted solar panels to provide source of renewable
energy, recycling of construction waste and green building

| Description: The City of Chicago Department of Environment and the PBC propose to construct a new environmental center in the Hegewisch Marsh Area. The Ford Calumet Environmental Center will be comprised of exhibit spaces, classrooms, an auditorium, staff offices, researcher bunkroom, and
various support spaces.
LEED Features: The building and site development will be designed to achieve a LEED “Platinum” rating. The project includes geothermal systems, wind turbines, wastewater treatment wetlands, a biomass boiler, recycled slag and glass for flooring, recycled steel from the local area for support beams and mesh for the porch, and wood from the only remaining lumber mill in Chicago. These and many other unique design elements emphasize the importance of acquiring local, recycled materials, using materials in the building that can be recycled themselves, conserving energy and water and reducing waste. |

The building will also include environmentally friendly features, such as low-consumption water fixtures, and a partial green roof, which will capture rainwater and return a portion back to the atmosphere. |

The proposed building construction will consist of load bearing pre-cast concrete wall panels and non load bearing curtain wall systems, skylights and clerestory windows for effective day lighting as well as a green roofing system. The new building will replace the existing Fieldhouse located at the corner of W. Fullerton and N. Washtenaw. It will be located on the site of the existing Tee-ball field. New landscaped areas will flank three sides
of the building to provide a buffer zone from the surrounding vehicle traffic noises as well as site drainage support.

This state-of-the-art school will include 30 classrooms; Music, Science, Art, Library, Dining, and Gymnasium. The exterior finish will be mostly a masonry material. This site will have two parking lots with a capacity of the spaces, playground areas, and a hard surface ball field.
LEED Features: The Discovery Garden of native plantings will be watered with rain water captured in a cistern, and the play areas use high reflectivity pavement to reduce urban heat island effects. This project has a target goal of LEED "Silver" Certification.
