Chicago Park District

All along the lakefront and throughout Chicago, the Public Building Commission and the Chicago Park District have joined forces to bring new recreational facilities to Chicagoans and to make substantial improvements to facilities.

Ping Tom - Chinatown

In response to the needs of the community, the PBC will design, build, update, or enhance parks or structures to better serve the residents. For example, activity rooms, a gymnasium, and fitness rooms may be added to a multi-purpose field house, while a beach house might receive a much-needed facelift that includes new restrooms, concession stands, and outdoor showers.

Once completed, the new and rehabbed parks and buildings can accommodate more residents of all ages, while introducing new programming and activities, such as concerts and fitness classes.
