    How To Apply for Skill Builders

    Skill Builders Class

To apply to the Skill Builders program, visit any of the application intake centers listed below during their regular weekday hours of operation B 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You will need to have the following items to apply to the program:

  • valid driver's license or state ID card showing Chicago residency
  • Social Security card
  • birth certificate
  • high school diploma or GED certificate, if achieved
  • copy of final high school transcript, even if not a graduate
This free program is open to anyone who meets the following requirements:
  • Chicago resident
  • at least 18 years of age
  • minimum 2 years of high school
  • passing a reading and math test showing a minimum eighth-grade ability
  • passing a general physical exam
