Advertisement for Bids: Contract C1603 – Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) Street Reconstruction (Medill Avenue)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has invited all Contractors to bid on PBC Contract C1603, Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) Street Reconstruction (Medill Avenue).

The WPA Street Reconstruction (Medill Avenue) Project is located at: West Medill Avenue from North Oak Park Avenue to North Normandy Avenue, Chicago, IL 60707.

The Project consists of street reconstruction including: full depth pavement reconstruction of West Medill Avenue between North Oak Park Avenue and North Normandy Avenue. Work includes Special Excavation, Portland Cement concrete Base Course, Hot-Mix Asphalt Surface Course, Sewer and Drainage Structures, Concrete Curb and Gutter, Concrete Sidewalks, Tactile/Detectable Warning Surface System for Curb Ramps, Concrete Driveways and Alleys, Thermoplastic Pavement Marking, Signs, Topsoil, Sodding, and Tree Planting. This Project includes a Phasing Plan.

On Wednesday, September 14, 2022, PBC will host a Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting at 10:00 a.m., and a Non-Mandatory Technical Review Meeting at 10:30 a.m. on ZOOM virtual meeting platform.

BID OPENING:

Sealed bids shall be received electronically or in person at the Public Building Commission, Richard J. Daley Center, 50 West Washington, Room 200, between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022 (Updated via Addendum No. 2). A Public Bid Opening streamed on the PBC YouTube channel will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.

PLEASE NOTE: The PBC office located at 50 West Washington, Room 200, Chicago, Illinois will only be open for drop-off of bids on October 6, 2022 commencing at 9:30 a.m. Mail has been sporadic due to COVID-19.  The PBC recommends firms submit their bid electronically to bids@pbcchicago.com and james.borkman@cityofchicago.org. Please refer to Book 1 Instructions to Bidders, Submission of Bids, for further instructions.

Public Bid Opening will be held immediately following receipt of bids on the PBC’s YouTube channel.
