RFQ Prequalify – HWL Center’s Thomas Hughes Children’s Library Renovation

PBC Alert 16-010 The Public Building Commission of Chicago is soliciting a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from General Contractors (including firms proposing to have a controlling interest in Joint Ventures) to prequalify to bid as a contractor on the Harold Washington Library Center’s Thomas Hughes Children’s Library Renovation Project. The project consists of the demolition and build-out of approximately 25,000 square feet of Thomas Hughes Children’s Library located on the 2nd level of the Harold Washington Library Center. The renovations for the children’s library include a new Lobby/Entry, Info Center/Concierge, Self-Check-out Kiosks, programming areas for 0-5 year olds, 6-10 year olds and 11-13 year olds, as well as, a Staff Work Area. This is a Project-Specific Prequalification. However, those firms previously prequalified as Class B and Class C Contractors who would like to be prequalified for this project must complete the following: review the solicitation, demonstrate experience/affirm capacity to coordinate activities related to furniture procurement and installation as described on the Previous Prequalification Affidavit, and return the Affidavit (with a completed Form A-Technical Competence & Past Performance if applicable) by the solicitation due date (same number of copies applies).
