The Ethiopian Community Association of Chicago celebrates Ethiopian Day with a flag raising, a display of artifacts and a musical performance by the Ethiopian Community Children’s Group.

The Official Observation of US Constitution Day includes a naturalization ceremony by USCIS presided over by Judge Joan Gottschall, keynote speech by Secretary of State Jesse White and performances by the US Navy Band.

The Peace School Build the Peace Committee presents a Call to Peace Flag Ceremony, cultural performances, music, speeches and a minute of silence.

The Chicago Football Classic Pep Rally, an annual event open to the public features drum lines and majorettes from the participating HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) schools. It is to inspire and educate the public on HBCU schools and the game.
