On September 17, 2005 Mayor Richard M. Daley cut the ribbon opening the new Austin Police District Station.

The $15 million state of the art station replaced one built in 1917. At 42,000 square feet it is more than double the size of the old station.

The 15th District Station was the ninth build under Mayor Daley’s Neighborhood’s Alive 21 program.
