12th District Police Station

The new station consists of a two-story, 44,000-square-foot masonry building with a design based on the Police Station Prototype. The project is designed to accommodate a staff of 450 people over three shifts and contains male/female locker rooms, roll call room, exercise room,sallyport, holding cells, interview rooms, evidence areas, 100 seat community room,administrative and general offices, and a 150-foot communications tower.

LEED Features: This project is designed to achieve the goal of LEED “Gold” Certification and includes a turbine generator waste heat recovery system, green roof over 50%, roof and paving selected to reduce heat island effects, environmentally friendly and recycled material usage, and a sophisticated building energy management system.

19th District Police Station

LEED Certified: GOLD

This new Police Station will replace the existing police station located at 3600 North Halsted. The current station was built in the 1930’s and does not have adequate space or amenities to service the Town Hall District. The new station will consist of a two story 44,000-square-foot masonry building with a design based on the prototype for other new police stations that have been built throughout the City. The project is designed to accommodate a staff of 450 people over three shifts and will contain male/female locker rooms, roll call room, exercise room, sallyport, holding cells, interview rooms, evidence areas, 100 seat community room, administrative and general offices and a 150 foot communications tower.

LEED Features: This project will be designed to achieve the goal of LEED “Gold” Certification and includes a turbine generator waste heat recovery system, heat island effect reduction pavement, drought resistant landscaping, and a sophisticated building energy management system.

7th District Police Station

LEED Certified GOLD

Mayor Daley opened the new Englewood Station on March 21, 2009.

The New 7th District Police Station will be located on the northwest corner of South Loomis and West 63rd Street. PD #7 will accommodate approximately 247 parking spaces located on the 4 acre site. PD #7 is a 2 story, 44,000-square-foot masonry structure.

The Program for PD #7 includes a Spacious Public Lobby, a Community Room, Community Relations Offices, Administrative Offices, Male and Female Locker Rooms for 400 Officers, Workout Room, and Garage Space, a Lock-Up Containing 12 Cells and 4 Group Holding Cells, Pre-Processing and Processing Areas, and a Sallyport. The facility also includes state-of-the-art command and communication infrastructure, and video arraignment linking the lock-up to the courtroom.

The new station will be twice the size of the current Englewood District Police Station that was built in 1954 at 6120 South Racine Ave.

LEED Features: This project is designed to achieve the goal of LEED “Gold” Certification and includes a “Green” roof over 50% of the roof area, a turbine generator waste heat recovery system, and a sophisticated building energy management system.

9th District Police Station

LEED Certified GOLD

On December 13, 2008 Mayor Richard M. Daley cut the ribbon on the new 2 story, 44,000-square-foot masonry police station. This $29.2 million project includes a 226 car parking garage structure and 24 surface parking spaces and is contained on a 2.67 acre site.

The new facility includes features such as a spacious public lobby, a Community Room, a Community Relations Office, a secured viewing and line up room, a separate two station entrance (Sallyport) for arrested personnel, a video arraignment room, a telecommunication room, a fitness room, a video wall roll call room, a security monitoring system, and a quiet room for officers.

The new station is nearly five times the size of the previous Deering District Police Station which was built in 1938 at 3501 S. Lowe Avenue.

8th District Police Station

February 4, 2006 was the grand opening for the new Chicago Lawn Police Station. Mayor Daley cut the ribbon for the new state of the art station, the tenth built by the PBC under the Neighborhoods Alive program.

The $13 million, 42,000 square foot facility replaced one built in 1926. The new station is more then double the size of the old station.

The new station features:

  • A new computerized command center;
  • A high-tech roll call room to enhance presentations during briefing and training sessions;
  • A community meeting room will promote neighborhood involvement;
  • A fitness room and updated locker room facilities to help meet the needs of the police department¿s changing workforce; and
  • Environmentally friendly features such as reflective roofing to reduce the urban heat island effect, electric car recharging area, and recycled content used in building materials as well as ceiling and floor tiles.

15th District Police Station

On September 17, 2005 Mayor Richard M. Daley cut the ribbon opening the new Austin Police District Station.

The $15 million state of the art station replaced one built in 1917. At 42,000 square feet it is more than double the size of the old station.

The 15th District Station was the ninth build under Mayor Daley’s Neighborhood’s Alive 21 program.

10th District Police Station

“Police do much more than simply walk a beat. The grand opening for the $15 million, 42,000-square-foot Ogden District station was February 5, 2005

>P? The new station is more than twice the size of the existing 10th District (Marquette) station at 2259 South Damen Avenue. Built in 1917, the Marquette station was the second oldest in Chicago.

22nd District Police Station

LEED Certified SILVER

The grand opening for 22nd District Police Station was held Saturday, June 5, 2004.

The new station replaced one that was built in 1938 at 1830 W. Monterey Avenue. Based on prototype design, the new 42,000-square-foot station is more than four times the size of the original.

17th District Police Station

Alderman Margaret Laurino and 17th District Commander Sam Christian joined the PBC for a ground breaking ceremony on June 11, 2003.

The new 17th District Police Station will be built on land between Leland Avenue and Eastwood Avenue on the west side of Pulaski.

A street-level parking lot will be constructed on the west side of Pulaski, from Eastwood Avenue to Wilson Avenue; and, on the east side, from Leland Avenue to Eastwood Avenue. Separate community parking will be constructed just north of the new station.

The current 17th District Police Station was built in 1938, two blocks south of the new site.

Based on prototype design, the new 42,000-square-foot station will be more than four times the size of the original.

20th District Police Station
